TRAINING METHODS

My training methods vary coming up to competitions, in between competitions and in the off season.

I always include a lot of plyometric excersises to maintain a quick jump reflex, I do a lot of stomach and leg excersises such as squats, lunges, tuck kick-outs and pike-ups.

I also use a hanging bar a lot, with this I do chin-ups, pull-ups, hanging pike-ups, hanging tuck-ups.

During the off-season and when I have a long time before a competition I work with free weights. This is mainly to strengthen my legs so I do a lot of squat variations and lunges.  I normally stop weights training 2 weeks before any competition to give my legs time to rest.

The other very important part of my training is stretching.  I stretch before and after every workout to avoid being sore the next day and to work on my pike shape, toe point and overall flexibility.
